Traffic & Durability
Not all tiles are made for the same level of wear. Think about how often the space is used, and by whom – pets, children and heavy footfall all have an impact.
Check the PEI rating (Porcelain Enamel Institute) to understand durability:
- PEI 1 – very light traffic
- PEI 3 – medium traffic
- PEI 5 – heavy, high-traffic areas

Which tile is right for you?
- Ceramic tiles: Affordable, versatile and widely used in homes, ceramic tiles come in a huge variety of colours, shapes and finishes. They’re easy to clean and ideal for most walls and floors.

- Wall tiles – Choose a ready-mixed, non-slip adhesive or a waterproof version for bathrooms and showers
- Floor tiles – Use a cement-based powder adhesive for strength and stability
Grouts & Levellers
- Grout type depends on the surface – walls, floors or wetrooms all need different formulas
- Available in a range of colours to suit your design and finish
- Floor levellers can be used on concrete or timber and are compatible with underfloor heating systems
